marine archaeology expedition with Dr. Robert
Ballard and the Institute for Exploration.
For the last 15 years Dr. Ballard

of the JASON Foundation for Education. In addition
to our ongoing work supporting the JASON Foundation,
he invited EDS to participate in an Institute
for Exploration expedition to investigate various

platform for a bi-directional voice, video and
data link between his research ship and research
and educational institutions across the world.
For 31 days while RV Knorr explored
submerged ancient wreck sites in the Black Sea
and Eastern Med, this satellite and terrestrial
network platform carried mission-critical data
in real-time between the ship and various research
and educational centers on Internet2.

on IP-based video streaming and audio communication
component deployment issues. In many cases eMB's
helped us overcome critical issues, avoiding mission-threatening

in this project was key to a successful mission.

EDS and Extreme Makeover
Home Edition
eMarket Builder was part of a unique
team of engineers, designers, contractors, carpenters,
landscapers, video production teams and countless volunteers
in helping support Pardee Homes’ week-long intense
“Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” project.
The EDS-led team worked diligently on multiple behind-the-scenes
activities. eMarket Builder was the driving force behind
provisioning and establishing a wireless network at
the project’s staging area and production site,
a vast hanger-like 60,000-square-foot warehouse about
six miles from the homesite. The network provided Internet
access, secure, encrypted e-mail and VPN access to the
end clients' networks for the project managers and visiting
executives. They also wanted to share real-time video
coverage with their employees and business partners
